John Piper (1903-1992) is one of Britain’s most famous 20th century artists. Famed for his paintings and prints of the British landscape, particularly churches and monuments, Piper is also famous for his work as official war artist in the Second World War and for designing stained glass, most notably for Coventry Cathedral.
This print of Long Melford Church shows one of the great Suffolk wool churches built in the 15th century.
